There is currently a road outage on M-119 the “Tunnel of Trees” south of Division Street between Goodhart General Store & Cross Village.

You may have seen recent news about the heavy rainfall and snowmelt that has caused flooding in the region and significant erosion to a section of the roadway on M119 the “Tunnel of Trees.” MDOT has not yet released a timeline for repairs, however, based on the damage, it will not be open for the May 16th ride.

Don’t Panic…We’ve been one step ahead! Zoo-de-Mack has 35 years of experience riding and navigating this area, and we have already investigated the roads and have several detour options around the closure and have you back on M119 just past the affected section, only missing a short stretch of M119.

The BEST PARTS of the annual ride are still on the agenda including:
– Friday Night’s Welcome Bash
Pond Hill Farm on the ZDM route
– Best Lake Michigan views in the state
– Finish Line Celebration Party at the Crossings in Mackinaw City

– The Arnold Ferry to Mackinac Island

We have been in communication with many of the local businesses and community leaders who are all sharing positive news about the rest of the roads and route. All of the businesses along Tunnel of Trees, M119 are still open!

Because the region is currently experiencing widespread flooding, local agencies are understandably focused on emergency operations. We have a strong, long-standing relationship with each of these organizations and will work closely with them to obtain approvals on an updated route once their immediate priorities have been addressed.
We look forward to sharing final and confirmed route information in the near future once approved by local officials, we appreciate everyone’s patience. In the meantime, our thoughts are with everyone in Northern Michigan affected by this historic flooding, and we hope for the safest and best possible outcome for all those impacted.

We look forward to seeing you up at The Highlands 🚴🚴
